The Los Planes community has been developing a coffee infrastructure for decades, focusing mainly on Pacas and Typica cultivars, but after a coffee rust outbreak the community was forced to diversify into disease-resistant varietals, leaving their farms more hearty, but the particular varietals in any given lot from this area harder to pin down. Nevertheless, we have been gifted with a wonderful, balanced, coffee from this region that is an easy and looked-forward-to daily drinker, with a pleasant bittersweetness reminiscent of baking chocolate.
